Devils hit the road for LA

The Sun Devils are headed to Los Angeles this weekend to take on California Miramar University- Los Angeles as they hit the road for the first time. The Devils will take on CMU in a Saturday double header at East Los Angeles College. First pitch of game one will start at 9:00 am with the second game of the double header starting approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of game one.

The Devils have started the fall season 6-0 as they have swept both weekends against GCU and Cal State Fullerton. The Sun Devils are off to a good start this year hitting a combined .265 with an OBP of nearly four hundred at .398. Unlike years prior the Devils are doing a better job defensively with a field percentage of .936 and eleven errors total, but 7 of those errors came in game two of the double header against CSUF. The real strength of the Sun Devils undoubtedly has been the combined efforts of the pitching staff. With a combined team ERA of 1.50, forty-eight strikeouts to nineteen walks, and have only given up twenty-one hits in forty-two innings to go along with a WHIP of .952.

Last year the Devils scheduled a very last second series against CMU-LA last year in the first series of the fall season. The Devils were swept in the Double Header against a well coached and disciplined CMU team. CMU finished with a 15-2 record during the 2016 spring season.

In honor of this trip the Devils might have to make a spiritual building trip to Bass Pro Shops to worship the Baseball Gods and purchase more neon colored hats.

*The Devils might have a single game Sunday that starts at 9am, but that is to be determined and we are awaiting word from their head coach. This game will take place in Upland, California.
